Training to become an Agriculture Teacher may take place through a number of pathways.
It is necessary to have a degree in Agriculture or equivalent and Diploma in Education, or a combined teaching and Agriculture degree. Courses are currently offered through Charles Sturt University and through the University of New England. Primary Industries Teachers also require recent industry experience and maintain currency.
Whilst Catholic, Private and Independent Schools usually recruit through the use of newspaper advertisements in the careers sections of The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, and sometimes The Land.
